The soul enters the ego "like it's taking a ride at an amusement park," Ram Dass says. But then the enticements of the incarnation trap the soul in ego, and we forget the purpose of the trip. In an evening at the Spirit Rock Meditation Center, Ram Dass offered a summary of his recent teachings about the "three levels of I," and talked about the methods we use to return to our soul-awareness. His talk was bracketed by chanting with Jai Uttal, Diana Rogers and Geoffrey Gordon, who sang a hymn to the guru, Sri Ram Jai Ram, and a prayer to the Goddess Durga.
